History of our Preschool
Medowie Community Preschool first opened its doors in September 1984 at the local community hall. It operated as an annexe of Raymond Terrace Community Preschool for the following two years on a part time basis. There were two staff, a teacher director and an assistant. After this period the preschool branched out on its own and it formed the association Medowie Community Preschool Incorporated. Due to the expansion of the local area our numbers continued to grow therefore we had to find permanent premises to operate from.

The staff, committee and parents worked very hard to fundraise to support this project and in 1988 we received a grant which assisted us to build our own new preschool on land which was donated by Port Stephens Council in Kindlebark Drive.

In January 1989 our new preschool was opened and we were now able to operate fulltime. Over the course of the next twenty three years many additions and changes have been made to our premises and still today we are continuing to make improvements to our centre to reflect an ever changing early childhood environment.
